Lanzarote is home to a unique vineyard system called "La Geria," where grapevines are grown in individual circular pits dug into volcanic ash. These pits, surrounded by semicircular stone walls, protect the vines from the strong winds and help collect moisture from the air. This distinctive method of viticulture produces wines with a special mineral quality and has become an iconic landscape feature of the island.
